Cashew

At Farm Angel, our largest intervention in the Edible Nuts space is Cashew Nuts. Amongst our identified and operational geographies, Cashews are grown in Vietnam, Ivory Coast, and Ghana. We are currently creating market access for thousands of farmers across these geographies by engaging with local governments and cooperatives. Farmers get better prices and access to Carbon Credits and Buyers get better prices, assured supplies, traceable products and reliable quality.

Today the main Cashew producing & processing hubs are in Africa and Asia, it is worth noting that the cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is native to the tropical regions of Brazil. The Cashew tree plantations are spread across the tropical regions of the Globe in both Southern & Northern hemisphere. Due to this there is a year-round supply of the Raw Cashew Nut from various origins. Below is the harvest calendar of few of the biggest origins:

The global Cashew Kernel consumption is led by countries like India, US etc. We started our processing in India at two locations in the Konkan region of India. Here we process both imported & local RC (sourced directly by us) and started with sales into the Indian market.
